Women of Influence, Style and Power

Women of Influence, Style and Power

At bhave we believe that every day is International Women’s Day, because we believe women are strong, fierce and fabulous and we have continued to celebrate the different cultures (and hairstyles) of women all over the world!

With International Women’s Day (IWD) approaching, we thought what better way to celebrate than to share a few women who have continued to inspire us over the years. After all, IWD is all about unity, celebration and reflection to remember the courage and determination of extraordinary women who have played a key role in history, bringing change, equality and making a better and brighter future for all women.

Let’s start with one of the most iconic women in television history…

Oprah Winfrey

Celebrating women’s achievements would not be possible without mentioning Oprah Winfrey! Oprah has continued to inspire women worldwide for over 2 decades and there’s no stopping her! Her values and honesty speak volumes to the millions of women who look up to her for guidance and inspiration.

And… can we take a moment to talk about her philanthropy! “You get a car, you get a car, EVERYONE GETS A CAR!!” She took the word celebrity and used it for good, giving back to not only her die hard fans, but to various charities donating millions of her hard earned cash.

She may’ve been known as the first lady of talk shows, but Oprah, we salute you and we back you for president in 2020!

Oprah has rocked more hairstyles than we’ve had hot dinners, but the one look we love is her curls! To keep curls in check, use the bhave curl defining crème.

Beyoncé

Another truly inspiring role model is the queen herself, Beyoncé! Her name is synonymous with success, aspiration and women domination! Beyoncé started from humble beginnings and has worked incredibly hard for every achievement in her life. Selling over 100 million albums and counting, she has set the benchmark higher than ever for up and coming female entertainers and became the highest paid black female entertainer of all time.

Beyonce continues to influenced women all over the world through her music and helping them embrace who they are. Whether it be their curves, their ethnicity or tapping into their talents, she has truly respected her position as a role model for young women, making them feel confident in every aspect of their lives! I mean, we all know we can’t resist feeling like superwoman when a Bey song comes on!

We love how Bey goes from a curly goddess to sleek and straight! You can achieve this too by taming your mane with the bhave smooth keratin treatment.

Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai, a young girl from Pakistan believed in education for women in a time where in her hometown, the Taliban did not allow girls to attend school.

After growing up in a family who owned a chain of schools and a father who worked as a humanitarian, she was inspired and wrote a blog for BBC detailing her own experiences which was later recognised internationally.

Her advocacy grew into an international movement, which led her to being shot by a Taliban gunman, but miraculously, she survived and continued her work as an education activist.

At just 17 years old, she had been the co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, became youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate, has launched her own organisation called The Malala Fund and has co-written a International best-seller.

Talk about a lady of many achievements!

Lastly, we can’t forget about YOU.

The women who get up every day and just get it done. Whether it’s working in or out of the home – or both. Women, who set goals, blaze trails, put others ahead of them and continue to make the world a better place for everyone. (And do it all with great looking hair! Because bhave gives you the confidence to go out there a conquer your world!)

Who run the world? GIRLS!
