Curls gone wild - part 2
Last week our curls gone wild part 1 shared our pre-shower, during shower and after shower regime to get you and your curls back on track.
A confident aura can elevate any hairstyle, but we have a few more tricks up our sleeve to help you embark on your journey to becoming your very own Curl boss.
So let’s delve a little deeper into the secret behind well bhaved curls…
Ditch the chemicals
Did you know that your hair products could be doing more damage than good? Using products which contain sulphates or alcohol can be very drying. They could even be responsible for firing up the frizz (FFS). Despite its larger than life presence, curly hair tends to be drier and more fragile than straight and with many supermarket hair care products often containing the same chemicals used in floor cleaner, it’s no wonder your hair doesn’t respond well!
Our suggestion?! Save your alcohol consumption for Friday nights, and ditch the chemicals all together.
Curly or not, if your hair is susceptible to dryness, frizz or dandruff, it’s time to say goodbye to toxic garbage and introduce your hair to products that are not only good for the environment and friendly to our furry friends, but also good for your hair! Nourish your hair using our deep conditioning hair masque at least once a week for easy to manage hair!
Our promise: Switching to products that contain no nasties is a decision both you and your curls will never look back on!
If you’re in dire need of a more permanent Mr. Smooth, our keratin smoothing therapy is just what the doctor ordered. A trip to a bhave salon is going to leave you with frizz-free and manageable hair with a lustrous shine that will have heads turning.
Feed your curls
Everyone knows you don’t mess with a curl when she’s hungry!
The regular consumption of healthy fats like omega-3 help can nourish and strengthen your hair while acting as a preventative for a dry scalp. To give your hair a health-kick, try to consume foods that contain healthy fats such as; avocado, ground flax seeds, flax seed oil, coconut oil, sardines, salmon, egg yolks and spinach. Going ‘au-naturel’ will work wonders inside and out.
Don’t mess with the curls
Over-fiddling with your curls is like playing with fire. Try to avoid touching your hair unless necessary as touching can often lead to misbhaving frizz. There's no question that our hair tends to go through a ringer on most given days.
Instead of washing, drying and re-styling hair that was yesterday’s biggest triumph, revive day 2 curls by spraying on a mixture of half water and half leave-in crème to the ends of your hair before styling as usual.
Avoid washing and applying heat to your hair as much as possible as this will give your precious tress the opportunity to produce its natural oils, leading to healthier hair.
bhave tip: Enhance your beauty sleep and protect your hair by switching to a satin or silk pillow case – this will help prevent the tangled/matted style in the morning. Cotton pillowcases are notorious for disturbing the curl pattern and deducting from your bhave babe status! You’re welcome!
For an even smoother and more envious curl, choose our curl defining creme to create soft, glossy and larger-than-life curls every day.
Armed with these expert tips and tricks, you’re sure to be everyone’s latest #curlcrush.
